This summer I was hired to do a green screen project. The company in question were Innovation Randers, the largest manufacturer of sofas in Denmark. The idea was conceived by Christoffer Mørch Sørensen and he is the leading force behind the project.
Christoffers idea were to have a sofa facing a TV-screen. The sofa and it’s background would be green and a computer would chromakey out everything except the persons sitting in the sofa. The TV-screen would display the persons sitting in a virtual sofa. By flicking a Wiimote they would be able to change the model, color and setup of the sofa they saw them selves sitting in. All in all a revolutionary idea!
Christoffer asked me if I could program such an application, I naturally said yes, though I had no practical experience in the field. I did some research and found that Quartz Composer was perfect suited for the task. I spent a couple of weeks learning Quartz the autodidact way.
